A 28-roll tandem consisting of seven sets of four-roll mills. The first mill is an all-steel Farrel kingboltless housing with 41" x 84" rolls and 19" x 26" journals. This first mill is driven through three enclosed Lufkin gear boxes by a 1,200 hp. single-stage Terry steam turbine. The second mill is an all-steel D.B.R. kingboltless housing with 40" x 84" rolls and 18" x 24" journals. The second mill is driven through all steel gears by a 1,200 hp. single-stage Terry steam turbine. The third mill is an all-steel D.B.R. kingboltless housing with 40" x 84" rolls and 18" x 24" journals. The third mill is driven through all-steel gears by a 1,500 hp. multi-stage Terry steam turbine. The fourth mill is an all-steel D.B.R. kingboltless housing with 39" x 84" rolls and 18" x 24" journals. The fourth mill is driven through all steel gears by a 1,200 hp. single-stage Terry steam turbine. The fifth mill is an all-steel D.B.R. kingboltless housing with 41" x 84" rolls and 18" x 24" journals. The fifth mill is driven through all steel gears by a 1,200 hp. single-stage Terry steam turbine. The sixth mill is an all steel D.B.R. kingboltless housing with 41" x 84" rolls and 18" x 24" journals. This mill is driven through all steel gearing by a 1,000 hp. multi-stage Terry turbine. The seventh mill is a Simisa housing with 53” x 95” rolls and 23.6” x 28.5” journals. The seventh mill is driven through enclosed Falk gear boxes by 2,000 hp. Multi-stage Terry steam turbine.

R.J. Tricon rubber belt Donnelly chutes are installed on all mills except number seven. A Donnelly chute was installed in 1993 on the sixth mill, three Donnelly chutes were installed on the first mill, the fourth mill, and the fifth mill in 1994. The second and third mill Donnelly chutes were installed in 1995. All mills were installed with by-passes in 1995.

The grooving on the first three mills is 3" pitch and the last four are 2" pitch. A 78" x 78" Eriez magnet is supported 16" over the first Donnelly chute rubber belt carrier is used to remove most of the tramp iron entering the mill tandem. All mill and knife turbines are equipped with Woodward governors.

Installed a new imbibition system in 1995 consisting of four ss 36" diameter tanks and four 6" by 6" Wemco chokeless pumps. This system will allow us to use total compound imbibition on the entire mill tandem.

To facilitate work on the mill, we have four electric-operated steel traveling cranes with 40' span and double trolley length of 150', along with two 20 ton hoists, two 12-ton Yale electric hoists, and two 10 ton electric hoists.
